3MD is an automated medical grade micro-needling therapy that vertically pierces the skin to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin with minimal epidermal damage. It produces skin tightening, improves acne scars and wound healing, improves wrinkles and fine lines, minimizes pore size, improves stretch marks, treats and improves alopecia and is used to infuse platelet rich plasma (“Vampire facial”).
What is the “Vampire” or Dracula Facial?
Ever wonder what ALL the celebrities are doing to keep their faces so youthful? The answer is the “Vampire” or Dracula Facial which is your own platelet rich plasma infused into your skin! Blood is taken from you and placed into a centrifuge and spun down to remove red cells and plasma is extracted. Most clinics only spin the blood one time which yields a less potent product. Our clinic spins the blood twice and we pull off the platelet poor plasma, leaving behind only the most concentrated platelet rich plasma that we then infuse into your skin.
Platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries and can rejuvenate the skin. The concentration of platelets — and, thereby, the concentration of growth factors — can be 5 to 10 times greater (or richer) than usual when spun down and extracted.
Our Dracula Facial is a micro-needling facial that essentially uses your own blood to help promote the healthy activity of your skin cells. Platelet-rich plasma is now commonly used topically as part of a regular facial, used along with micro-needling to enhance penetration into the skin, and is even being injected into the skin in the same manner as dermal fillers, which we also do at Nevaeh.
The exciting thing about platelet rich plasma facial enhancement is that you “age” out of it, unlike fillers which your body breaks down. Your skin plumps and looks glowing and the treatment can last for about 3 years. You may need more than one treatment, but even after one treatment you will notice great results!
